The Penny
In 2005, Pennyroyal founder Tim Foster made a necklace using a river rock, a construction hammer, a Leatherman, and a penny. The process was rough, entirely self-taught, and produced something completely one of a kind. That object, and the making of it, changed everything.
Tim spent the next twelve months learning everything he could about jewelry design and metalwork, building Pennyroyal's first collection from a coffee table workshop in Minneapolis.
In February 2006, at 25, he left his full-time marketing role at Sony Music, moved to Los Angeles, and launched the studio.
